PROFESSIONAL BIO

Jenny Gehman is a spiritual director, retreat facilitator, and freelance writer. Having spent nearly three decades in a ministry of hospitality to international college students, Jenny is passionate about the wild, wide-open, warm-hearted welcome of God, whom she names as our "Holy Host."

As the former founder and director of LiveWell!Ministries and R&R Retreats, Jenny is a seasoned speaker with experience in leadership development, retreat planning and community cultivation. This experience serves her well in her current role as the East Coast Representative for Mennonite Women USA, a role that affords her the opportunity to lift up the voices and uphold the value of women in their various roles.

Jenny is a columnist for Anabaptist World magazine, and a regular contributor to Rejoice!Magazine. Her words can be found in a variety of books and blogs, as well as her own “Little Life Words” which she publishes on a bi-weekly basis.

Jenny resides in the Amish country of Pennsylvania with her husband of 34 years, their grown son, and as many other people as she can possibly cram into her little home. She enjoys crackling fires, classical music, and chocolate of the darkest variety.

Scripture tells us, “The words of the wise prod us to live well. They’re like nails hammered home, holding life together," (Ecclesiastes 12:11, The Message). This is the kind of wisdom God has deposited in Jenny— wisdom that holds your life together, even amidst raging storms.
